Secrets on the Lake is the Sunshine Coast hinterlands most iconic wedding destination and honeymoon escape. We are tucked away on the foreshore of Lake Baroon, situated between Maleny and Montville on the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
It features beautiful carved decks and dreamy rock ponds fringed by the lush rainforest mountains. There are many stunning choices for you to choose your wedding ceremony location: the garden decks, the romantic chapel- like Lake House, or the elegance of the green lawns by the lake.
After the ceremony, guests can enjoy the magic of the day with stunning views of lush lawns, gardens and magnificent Lake Baroon while being refreshed with delicious cocktail-style food and beverages. Couples can decide whether they want canapés or a daytime reception in the gardens or on The Lakehouse deck. This can extend to croquet on the lawn with high teas, Barbeques or Luncheons.
Alternatively, you are able to have a night time reception on the cafe deck, overlooking Lake Baroon, arguably one of the best views from a restaurant in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. We serve fabulous gourmet style-food inspired by our chef Mathew Law.

Wedding Ceremony Costs and Inclusions
The following costs are based on the wedding couple also holding their reception at Secrets on the Lake in either the daytime Lakehouse venue or the night time Dining on the Deck restaurant. These costs include venue hire for the daytime Lakehouse wet weather contingency.
Weddings held from Jan 1st 2021 to Dec 31st 2021
Midweek (Tuesday to Friday) $1,400, Weekend (Saturday and Sunday) $2000
Weddings held from Jan 1st 2022 to Dec 31st 2022
Midweek (Tuesday to Friday) $1,500, Friday, Weekend (Saturday and Sunday) $2250
Inclusions
- Guarantees exclusive access to the “The Secrets Garden”, or in the case of wet weather, access to the Lakehouse
- Assistance from our Wedding Planner Susan Lyle.
- Assistance from Secrets staff and Wedding Coordinator Jen.
- Pre-ceremony drinks of homemade Secrets fruit punch and water.
- Two and a half hours of access to your wedding site from 10am, in winter must be by finished by 4.30pm, and in summer by 5.30pm
- Includes 10 Italian white padded folding chairs. Additional chairs may be hired at a cost of $5.00 per chair.
- The Secrets Garden Ceremony area includes a chair for the wedding couple with a dressed registry table. Bowl of short stem roses on the signing table.
- Bottle of Sparkling Wine and a set of complimentary Secrets complimentary Champagne memorabilia glasses in your cabin.
- Sound system (you arrange your own music)
- People getting ready at Secrets on the Lake normally require the larger options of accommodation to do this such as The Nest, or the Whistle Stop
- Outside catering options are not permissible at any ceremony or elopement at Secrets on the Lake.
- Wedding guests may enter the garden area no earlier than half an hour before ceremony. Wedding guests are to remain only in this area until the ceremony is over and are specifically not to wander through the grounds if they are not Secrets accommodation guests.

Receptions
Your wedding reception is a dream come true when you book at Secrets on the Lake. You can choose from our stunning Lakehouse Chapel venue for a day time reception right by the shores of Lake Baroon, or a beautiful night time reception at our Dining on the Deck restaurant venue. Venue hire is included in the reception catering cost. Please check out our Catering options here.
We have a broad range of mouth-watering catering options from Buffet BBQ to a full 3 course sit down feast. Our wedding Planner and Coordinators work with you to create the perfect reception for you. Reception numbers are limited from 20-80 adults. Other catering options are available for smaller wedding parties. (For numbers under 20 guests special arrangements will need to be made).
Prices are subject to increases each year as at 1st January. During the current pricing period every effort will me made to maintain this level, however, due to external events, management reserves the right to change prices if necessary. All prices quoted include GST, unless otherwise stated. Alterations to standard menus may incur a fee.
It is a requirement of our liquor license to serve food with after ceremony drinks. Choices include Canapes or Cheese Platters. Cheese platters are based on the full number of adult guests and at a rate of $12 per person.
Inclusions:
We include a basic set-up for receptions, which includes a white cloth, cutlery, serviettes, glasses, salt & pepper and a bud vase.
N.B. Table will be laid out according to your instructions but where there are complicated decorations required an additional charge based on time applies or you may hire an event stylist.

Mid Week Weddings can be designed using our midweek venue hire price plus your own choice of celebrant and photographer. Alternatively you may like to let us take care of all the details and take advantage of our special midweek wedding package.
Midweek Wedding Special Package
Available between Monday – Thursday (excluding public holidays) for only $3500 in 2021. Venue and extras only, does not include accommodation. Take advantage of the midweek rate by saving money on an excellent photographer and the best celebrant in the area… in addition to all that we normally provide for a full ceremony.
Inclusions

- Assistance from Secrets staff and Wedding Coordinators Sarah and Jen.
- Celebrant services. Celebrant fee is non-refundable in the event of wedding cancellation.
- Professional Photography services for 2 hours. High quality digital photos on disc only. Midweek Wedding Package Photography fee is non-refundable in the event of wedding cancellation.
- Pre-ceremony drinks of Secrets fruit punch, and water.
- Two and a half hours of access to your wedding site from 10am with garden reception, in winter must be by finished by 4.30pm and in summer by 5.00pm

- Chair and Signing table with a bowl of short stem roses

- People who are getting ready at Secrets on the Lake will require our larger sized accommodation to do this such as The Nest, or the Whistle Stop
- Outside catering options are not permissible at any ceremony or elopement at Secrets on the Lake.
- A minimum of two cabins must be booked, one of which one must be Two Frogs as it is very close to the pathway to the garden and guests may be disturbed by your wedding
- Wedding Ceremonies booked without a reception will incur an extra fee of $750

Our Wedding Team
Susan Lyle – Wedding Planner
Susan Lyle, our Wedding Manager has over 20 years of event management experience. Susan will be available to discuss all your specific details to ensure your special event runs seamlessly. Susan has many weddings to plan and is highly experienced at working out the intricacies and event order of your special day.
Susan’s services for the ceremony (including up to 2 meetings with the wedding couple) are included in the venue hire of many of our packages. Susan is able to arrange all aspects of your wedding day with her team of local professionals including celebrants, photographers, florists, hair and makeup artists as well as specialty decoration hire.
For additional services that are not included in the venue hire, Susan is very willing to help, but there would be an additional charge. An event order must be completed and signed off with committed numbers by 3 weeks before the event. All final payments are required at this time. Chefs do not begin preparations until all monies have been paid.
Jen and Sarah – Wedding Coordinators
Jen and Sarah’s role is to liase with you by the phone or internet about the minor running details of coordinating your special day. They are your first point of contact when you are arranging your initial wedding inspections. They will organise your wedding quote, and assist with all the financial and other arrangements to ensure your special day is not only just spectacular but runs smoothly.
Secrets is a discrimination free zone! We are flexible to your needs and unique requirements… whether it’s a low key elopement or a full wedding and reception of up to 80 guests, we have you covered in one of the most idyllic locations the hinterland offers! We also have a selection of wonderful celebrants, photographers, florists and stylists to help you celebrate and capture your special day.
