From tiny elopements through to full three course sit down reception style events for up to 80 people. One of our most popular spots bridal couples can choose to have their ceremony is what we call ‘The Peninsular’, a unique cathedral-like space in the trees, right next to the hand carved jetty lapping the waters of majestic Lake Baroon.

But don’t let us sway you. You choose the ceremony location… whether it’s beautiful lakeside chapel and jetty, pristine rainforest backdrops, rustic woodshed photo opportunity, or the magnificent Secrets Wedding Gardens with babbling streams, carved bridges and decks. Our beautiful mature gardens have been lovingly tended and nurtured over 37 years and create a stunning green backdrop to your special occasion.

Secrets is about as far as you can get from a white room in an event hall.

We are by no means a blank canvas needing complete styling to create the ambience or atmosphere your special day deserves. The opportunity for so many different photo opportunities mean the choice is yours. Keep it simple and let our gardens add the magic, or bring in your dream florists and stylists for that extra wow factor.

In 2011, we decided to extend our reception to create the beautiful restaurant we now call Dining on the Deck and Secrets Art Gallery. This divine space has become our magical evening wedding reception area. It is transformed by fairy lights and spotlights in the surrounding forest and has a view of Lake Baroon which never ceases to delight our daytime restaurant diners. In 2022 we again added to this space with our Hideaway building. The Hideaway caters for functions of up to 20 people in complete privacy with stunning lake views. The other dining alternative is a daytime wedding and reception in the magnificent gardens and Lakehouse Chapel building. It’s all about offering you choices to make your special day perfect for you.

Complete the occasion in our world-class luxury treehouse accommodation, reached by hand carved elevated boardwalks and perched in the lush rainforest onsite. Our treehouses can be booked for your wedding guests to stay, for the wedding party to get ready in, and are perfect to cocoon away in for your honeymoon. You can’t get more convenient than that!

In fact, our treehouses are often the place where a partner originally proposed, and where the anniversary is celebrated year after year. George specialises in helping arrange secret flower petal messages of ‘Will you marry me?’’ or ‘I love you’. We have had James Bond style helicopter fly-in proposals, romantic interlude restaurant meals set up for two in the lakehouse, and secret boho picnics set up in the snug hut with ‘will you marry me’ in white rocks along the pathway there. We have one couple who married 26 years ago and have come back to stay at Secrets every year since. We must be doing something right!

It’s all in the name I guess, and we are pretty good at keeping your secrets at Secrets on the Lake. We are all different and what is perfect for you will not necessarily be perfect for me. What is certain though is that you should be covered by a wedding venue that is helpful, organised and reliable. One that creates the event order and rolls it out seamlessly.
